About Sandestin & My Favorite Photography Locations

“Luxurious Oasis on the Emerald Coast,” Sandestin stands as a grand and opulent resort community along the beachfront. This destination is celebrated for its top-tier facilities, stunning landscapes, and immaculate beaches, representing the ultimate in coastal indulgence coupled with the warmth of Southern hospitality.

The community’s architecture is a harmonious mix of sophistication and relaxation, offering a diverse range of accommodations, including oceanfront condominiums and villas by the bay. The architectural styles within the resort vary from contemporary luxury to traditional beach house aesthetics, catering to a wide array of preferences. For portraits, this means flexible session options — the manicured grounds, dune walkovers, bay-front docks, and the wide gulf beach all work beautifully on the same evening.

Central to Sandestin’s charm are its breathtaking white sand beaches and crystal-clear, turquoise waters. These shores serve as an idyllic backdrop for days filled with relaxation, sunbathing, or a variety of water sports. The resort enhances the beach experience with luxury amenities like comfortable beach chairs, umbrellas, and convenient refreshment options — perfect for families combining a vacation day with an evening sunset session.

Sandestin extends beyond beachside leisure, offering an array of activities and facilities. The resort is equipped with several top-notch golf courses, tennis courts, swimming pools, and a marina for water adventures such as fishing, kayaking, and yacht charters. The resort’s spa provides a tranquil environment for a variety of rejuvenating treatments. Many clients book a portrait session with us before a special dinner at Baytowne Wharf or a sunset cruise out of the marina.

Nearby Destin, Santa Rosa Beach, and the 30A communities are all within easy reach, making Sandestin an ideal home base for any Emerald Coast vacation and an exceptional location for family portraits.

When Is the Best Time for Sandestin Photos?

The best light at Sandestin happens during the golden hour just before sunset and the first 30 minutes after sunrise. Sunrise sessions mean fewer crowds, soft pastel skies, and quiet stretches of beach perfect for intimate family portraits. Sunset sessions deliver the dramatic pink-and-orange skies the Emerald Coast is famous for, with the chance to capture silhouettes against the Gulf. Spring (March–May) and fall (September–November) offer the most reliable weather for Sandestin photography, while summer brings warm Gulf water and the chance for dramatic storm-cloud skies.

Sandestin Photographer FAQ

What does a Sandestin photographer cost?

Sandestin photography sessions vary by length, location, and number of subjects. Sunrise and sunset sessions are the most popular and book up months in advance during peak vacation season. Please fill out the contact form below for all of the detailed session pricing information to be sent over immediately.

Where do you photograph in Sandestin?

I shoot on the gulf-front beaches in front of the Hilton, Westwinds, and Beachside towers, on Sandestin’s bay-side docks, in the photogenic dunes throughout the resort, and at Baytowne Wharf. I also love combining Sandestin with nearby Miramar Beach and Destin for clients who want variety.

Do I need a Sandestin resort guest pass for the photo session?

If we are shooting inside the resort gates, a guest pass or a guest sticker on the car helps with entry. If you are a Sandestin guest or owner, the resort issues you a pass at check-in. If not, we can easily shoot on the public beach adjacent to the resort or in nearby Miramar Beach.

How far in advance should I book a Sandestin photographer?

Peak weeks (spring break, summer, and Thanksgiving) typically book three to six months in advance. Off-peak sessions in late fall and winter can sometimes be booked a few weeks out.

Sandestin Florida family photographer captures family of five running through the surf at sunset
Hi, I'm Amanda Eubank — a premier Emerald Coast photographer specializing in family, senior, engagement, maternity & newborn portraits along Florida's most iconic coastline. For more than a decade, I've been capturing the natural beauty and easy magic of Destin, 30A, Santa Rosa Beach, Rosemary Beach, Watersound, Seaside, Watercolor, and the surrounding sugar-white shoreline. Every gallery is tailored to reflect the people in front of the camera — warm, candid, and connection-driven — designed to feel less like a photo shoot and more like a memorable time with your favorite people. Whether you're planning a vacation session or marking a milestone, I'd love to create timeless, emotive images that feel like the trip itself. I'd love to hear from you.
