Today’s photo session is with the amazing and beautiful Elliott family. OMG, check out this majestic sky — it’s gorgeous! As a Miramar Beach sunrise family photographer, sessions like this one are exactly why I love early mornings on the Emerald Coast.

Why Sunrise Is the Most Underutilized Time of Day

One of the most underutilized times to take photos is during sunrise. I absolutely love taking photos early in the morning because of so many benefits. When you take photos early in the morning the beaches are empty, the temperature is cooler, and the skies are absolutely breathtaking. When the Elliott family chose to do a sunrise session, I was absolutely thrilled and knew it would be amazing.

Three Generations on the Beach

This was such a special session because we got to include three generations — mom and dad, their adorable toddler daughter, and grandma and grandpa too. Pulling everyone in for multi-generational portraits is one of my favorite things to do; these are the images families come back to for decades.

A Third Birthday Celebration in the Sand

We even snuck in a sweet little celebration — the number 3 drawn right into the white sand for their little girl’s third birthday, complete with the cutest peace-sign pose. Combining a milestone moment with a family session is such a fun way to remember a big day.

Dressed Perfectly for the Light

The Elliotts were dressed perfectly for the photo session and completely rocked it. Soft coral, teal, and warm neutral tones glowed against the fiery sunrise sky — the kind of palette that pops beautifully without competing with the Gulf colors. Coordinated (not perfectly matching) outfits in beachy tones always photograph beautifully at sunrise.
