Power Baseball Gulf South – Kilcrease 11U at the Hoover, AL Tournament

What a weekend in Hoover! ⚾🔥 We knew coming into this tournament that the competition would be on a whole ‘nother level. Facing off against some of the top major teams in the region is no joke, but the Power Baseball Gulf South – Kilcrease 11U boys didn’t blink. The energy at the Hoover Metropolitan Complex was electric as our team stepped onto the diamond.

A Sunday Sweep After a Tough Saturday

After a tough Saturday dropping two games, it would have been easy to pack it in. Instead, these athletes dug deep, kept their heads up, and battled back to sweep Sunday with two huge wins! 💪

Highlights from the Diamond

Watching them compete against elite talent and refuse to give up makes us so proud. This weekend was about more than just the final score; it was about:

  • Resilience: Overcoming a difficult start to dominate on Sunday.
  • Grit: Standing tall against some of the best major teams in the South.
  • Teamwork: Supporting each other through every inning and every play.

They knew it was going to be a gauntlet, and they proved they belonged on that stage.

Pitching, Catching, Hitting & Hustle

From pitchers reaching their peak loaded position on the red clay mound, to catchers cocking back throws to second, to baserunners exploding off bases in pink batting gloves and American flag wristbands — every player brought it. There were headfirst slides into clouds of chalk dust, mound visits with the whole infield gathered around, big swings with mint and pink Supra bats, and walking outfield shots with the Hoover Met spread out behind. And of course, the celebration mob after a big play.
