I often get asked why I use makeup and hair artists, and how they can really benefit our seniors. There are many reasons why we choose to work with a MUA — but here are the big ones.

The Glamour Model Treatment

We want to make you feel like a glamour model — using a “PRO” adds a special treatment that you don’t get every day. I mean, come on, who doesn’t love a little pampering? Senior sessions only happen once, and starting the day with a hair-and-makeup chair makes it feel like the celebration it is.

They Help You Look Your Best on Camera

Most importantly, they help you look your absolute best. Even though I’m sure you do an excellent job with your hair and makeup on an everyday basis, when it comes to photo shoots, you have to apply makeup a little differently to make your best features really pop on film. You may not put on enough makeup normally to please the camera — or you may put it on too heavy when trying to get it right for your session. A pro nails that balance every time.

Sit Back and Let Them Work Their Magic

I highly suggest hiring a professional so you don’t have to worry about it — just sit back and let them work their magic. They’ve done this a million times before and know what looks best on camera. Cameras are very technologically advanced these days, and a MUA knows how to highlight your features instead of hiding them in shadows. They’ve got the 4-1-1 on photography makeup. I prefer to leave this matter in the hands of the professionals.
