Timeless Moments at Eden Gardens
There is a quiet elegance to Eden Gardens State Park that makes it one of my absolute favorite locations for portraits along the Emerald Coast. While I spend plenty of time with my toes in the sand, the moss-draped live oaks and manicured lawns of this historic estate offer a completely different—yet equally stunning—coastal vibe.
A Classic Aesthetic under the Oaks
For this session, we traded the shoreline for the deep greens and golden light of the gardens. As a Santa Rosa Beach family photographer, I love how the architecture of the Wesley House and the sprawling branches of the ancient trees provide a sense of scale and history. It creates a “fairytale” atmosphere that is perfect for capturing children and families in a more formal, yet still natural, setting.
Styling for the Gardens
The styling for this session was perfection. The soft blush-pink tones of the girls’ ruffled tulle gowns popped beautifully against the lush greenery, while the youngest’s gray vest and pink bow tie tied the whole look together. When choosing outfits for an Eden Gardens session, I often recommend soft pastels or neutrals to complement the earthy tones of the park without competing with the natural beauty of the surroundings.
Beyond the Beach
While many families visit the area specifically for beach portraits, exploring inland gems like Santa Rosa Beach and Point Washington allows for a diverse gallery. These images feel like a breath of fresh air—timeless, sophisticated, and filled with the gentle, natural light that defines the Florida Panhandle.
