30A Senior Photographer | Amanda’s Watercolor & Sunset Beach Session

Anything I write will not do the amazing and beautiful Amanda justice! There are literally no words. Sometimes in my profession you rarely come across a true natural that requires little or no assistance during a photoshoot. As your 30A senior photographer, I can tell you Amanda’s at ease with the camera was a photographer’s dream that enabled us to shoot at multiple locations in a very short amount of time.

Watercolor Inn Gardens

Our first location was the beautiful Watercolor Inn & Resort, where we played in the lavender beds, the long reflecting fountain, the wooden boardwalks, and the marigold blooms. Amanda’s first look — a soft white blouse and a pink patterned skirt — felt right at home in the coastal gardens. She even kicked off her shoes and splashed her feet in the fountain.

A Quick Outfit Change

For look number two, Amanda slipped into a flowy blue off-shoulder romper. We wandered the shaded benches and olive branches near the lavender waterway before heading toward the dunes to chase the light.

Santa Rosa Beach Sunset

From the gardens we hit the beach for a stunning sunset backdrop. Amanda glowed in a red off-shoulder dress along the dune lake bridge and crossover, then changed once more into a beautiful white lace and fringe dress for the surf. The sky cooperated beautifully — pink, coral, fiery orange, and finally a soft teal twilight. You can see why I love capturing seniors at these Destin and 30A locations.

Family Portraits at Sunset

Senior sessions are also a sweet chance to capture mom, dad, and senior all together. Amanda walked the shoreline with her parents, shared a quiet hug on the dune crossover with her dad, and sat in the sea oats with her mom as the sun dipped below the horizon. Those family frames may end up being everyone’s favorite.
