Watercolor Photographer | The Steinbauer Family Garden & Beach Session

Meet the beautiful Steinbauer family! For those who follow my blog, you know how much I love blue in my photos — so I have to say well done, Steinbauer family! Today I had the pleasure of being their Watercolor photographer for an extended family session that took us from the gardens of Camp Watercolor to the white sand beach at sunset on 30A.

A Garden Start at Camp Watercolor

We began at the iconic reflecting fountain at Camp Watercolor, where the kids took turns on the wooden plank for individual portraits before the parents and grandparents joined for couples and family frames. The greenery, the soft architecture, and those classic Watercolor blues created the perfect coordinated palette for a family that knows how to dress for photos.

Coordinated in Blues & Whites

The Steinbauer family arrived in beautifully coordinated blues, whites, and soft greens — light blue gingham ruffles, eyelet sundresses, seersucker shorts, and pops of turquoise. Coordinating without being too matchy is one of my favorite styling approaches for family sessions, and the Steinbauers nailed it.

Sunset on the Watercolor Beach

The temperature was still very warm, but the Gulf waves were calm and the sky did not disappoint. We ended on the beach as the sun set in vivid pink, purple, and yellow — perfect light for the extended family group, the four cousins hand-in-hand at the surf line, and a few candid moments of the kids running and splashing through the rolling Gulf. Watercolor is one of the most beautiful neighborhoods along 30A for family photos — with the garden architecture, the reflecting fountain, and quick beach access, you can easily get two distinct looks in one session.
