As a Santa Rosa Beach newborn photographer, getting to spend an evening with a sweet new baby like Shep is hands-down one of my favorite parts of this job.

On this beautiful day, mom and dad wanted some quick photos of baby Shep, and I gladly obliged! The parents are amazing people and I was honored I received the inquiry to shoot their precious little Shep. The Standout Shot: Baby Shep on the Water

One of my favorite photographs from our session is when Shep is surrounded by water. It appears that he is literally floating in the water and has a beautiful setting sun in the background! Dad was hovering right over Shep and was ready to grab him in a second’s notice — and I’m so glad we got the shot, because it looks AMAZING.

Safety First Always

That dad-hovering-out-of-frame moment is a great reminder: every creative newborn pose, even the ones that look effortless, has a parent (or two) just outside the frame ready to catch baby in a heartbeat. Newborn safety is always my number one priority during a session, and we plan every pose with that in mind.
