Newly engaged after dating for four years, Blake and Lauren met in college, and their love story is truly inspiring. There’s something so sweet about photographing a couple who has grown up together — who has navigated late-night study sessions, post-grad life, and a long stretch of “us” before the proposal ever happened. That history shows up in every glance, every laugh, every quiet pause between frames.

A Tropical Destin Sunset on the Emerald Coast

The photo shoot location was in Destin, FL, and the beach was simply breathtaking. The skies looked tropical, with a warm glow that created the perfect ambiance for capturing beautiful images. Pastel clouds, glassy Gulf water, and that signature Destin shoreline — sugar-white sand stretching as far as you can see — gave us a setting that didn’t need much help. We just had to show up, breathe, and let the light do its thing.

Capturing the Connection

As a photographer, I always strive to capture the essence of my clients’ love story, and Blake and Lauren’s connection was nothing short of magical. Add a barefoot walk through the surf and the whole look came together effortlessly.

One of my favorite things about this photo shoot was the soft, romantic glow of the evening light along the shoreline. The white sand beach and crystal-clear Gulf waters provided the perfect backdrop for showcasing their love and capturing their memories in a stunning and timeless way.

Throughout the shoot, I encouraged Blake and Lauren to be themselves and enjoy each other’s company. We captured candid frames of them laughing, embracing, walking hand in hand through shallow surf, sharing a forehead kiss, and even a fun lift-and-kiss above the breaking waves. These images are often the most cherished, as they truly capture the spirit of the moment and the love that they share.

As the sun began to set, we moved toward the water’s edge to capture the most breathtaking moments of the day.
