Destin Photographer | The Carter Family Sunset Session

Meet the Carter family! Most people say “Rain rain go away, come again some other day!” Not me though. As a Destin photographer, I have to admit I was nervous we wouldn’t get to do the session — but we always live with a certain percentage chance of rain. It’s just part of beach life.

When Storms Make the Best Skies

As a photographer, you embrace it. Storms normally do not last very long and bless us with amazing colorful skies while clearing out the beaches. That is exactly what occurred today, and we had absolutely stunning skies during our photo session — soft pastels, sun-haloed sea oats, and warm golden hour light on the Destin dunes.

Photographing a Photographer’s Family

Shana — who is a well-known and respected photographer — and her family were the perfect clients. Being a photographer, by nature we enjoy a certain level of artist control and find it hard at times to be on the other end of the lens. Today was no problem for them, and when I find myself back in Texas, my family will be on the other end of her lens.

Sunset on the Destin Dunes

We worked the boardwalk, the sandy path through the dunes, and tucked in among the tall sea oats for some of my favorite frames.
