Why do a sunrise photo session, you ask? Well — because you get smiles for miles, cotton candy skies, and your own private beach! As a Seaside family photographer, sunrise is hands-down one of my favorite times to shoot, and the Johnson family’s session is a perfect reason why.

Today, it is my pleasure to introduce you to my latest sunrise clients — the Johnson family. I absolutely love morning sessions and get so excited when I can do them, and the Johnsons brought that same energy from the very first frame.

Beautifully Coordinated for the Beach

Tara and Kayli were dressed beautifully in gorgeous dresses that were absolutely perfect for the beach. Carter was looking dapper and incredibly handsome in white shorts with a blue button-down for that added pop of style. Coordinated coastal palettes like this one — soft, breezy, and a touch of contrast — photograph beautifully against the pastel sunrise sky and the emerald gulf.

That’s the magic of sunrise on Seaside. The beach is empty, the light is impossibly soft, the gulf is glassy, and the whole world feels peaceful. Kids are also fresh and happy first thing in the morning — which is a huge bonus for families who want easy, joyful frames. The Johnsons rocked it, and I’m so happy I was chosen to photograph this amazing family.
