Rosemary Beach Photographer | The McPherson Family Session
One of the biggest questions I receive as a Rosemary Beach photographer is: “What do we do if it rains?” It’s a totally fair question — and one I love answering, because the truth surprises most clients.
Will We Have to Cancel If It Rains?
Living on the Gulf, we have a constant 30–40% chance of rain year-round. However, what most people don’t realize is that these showers are usually no more than 15 minutes long. I actually love it when it rains — because it clears out the beach and leaves us with gorgeous skies and raised surf. Some of the most dramatic, prettiest sessions I shoot come right after a passing storm.
The McPhersons Rocked the Weather Window
The McPherson family is one of those amazing clients who understood that and completely rocked today’s session. They came dressed to impress and were absolutely blessed with a beautiful beach backdrop for their efforts. Empty sand, dramatic clearing-storm clouds, and that signature emerald gulf — every frame felt like a gift.
Why Post-Rain Sessions on Rosemary Beach Are Magic
Cleared crowds, softer light, dramatic skies, and a raised, glassier-looking surf — Rosemary Beach is at its most photogenic right after a quick passing shower. Pair that with the community’s pastel coastal architecture, lush dune walkways, and sugar-white sand, and you get one of the prettiest stretches along all of 30A.
