After the Storm: Shannon + Bryan’s Santa Rosa Beach Engagement

Meet Shannon and Bryan! These two were recently engaged and decided to take full advantage of Bryan being in the area for work to capture some beautiful Santa Rosa Beach engagement photos.

Chasing the Light

We were a little worried the session might not happen as we watched the radar — thunderstorms were rolling through the area right before our scheduled start time! However, just before it was time to shoot, the rain pushed inland (as it does so often here on the coast), leaving us with the most incredible atmosphere.

Dramatic Post-Storm Sunsets

As an engagement photographer in Santa Rosa Beach, I’ve learned a secret: I absolutely LOVE sunsets after a storm comes through. Those are usually the best! The clouds break up just enough to let the light hit the moisture in the air, creating a dramatic, multi-toned sky that you just can’t get on a perfectly clear day.

Shannon and Bryan were such a pleasure to work with, leaning into the adventure of the shifting weather. From quiet moments by the dunes to stunning portraits against the crashing waves and purple-hued sky, their connection was the real star of the show.
