Meet the Jones family! While most people might say “Rain, Rain, Go Away,” I have a slightly different outlook. As a Santa Rosa Beach photographer, I’ve learned that a little weather can lead to the most breathtaking results.

Embracing the Storm

I have to admit, I was a bit nervous that we wouldn’t get to do the session as we watched the clouds roll in. However, living on the Emerald Coast means living with a certain percentage chance of rain – it’s just part of the beach life! Instead of calling it quits, we embraced the atmosphere. Storms here normally don’t last very long, but they almost always leave behind a spectacular gift for those who wait.

Breathtaking Sunset Colors

That is exactly what occurred for the Jones family today. The rain cleared out the beaches, leaving us with a private paradise and absolutely stunning, colorful skies. The moisture in the air caught the setting sun, creating a backdrop that felt more like a painting than a photograph. It provided the perfect, dramatic lighting to highlight this sweet family’s connection.

A Family, Their Dog & a Daughter in Pink

One of my favorite parts of this gallery is the Jones’ sweet pup wandering the shoreline with their daughter in pink. Bringing the family dog along always adds a little magic to a beach session – the candids practically take themselves.
