Destin Newborn Photographer | Baby E’s Pier + Bowl Newborn Session

Yes — the skies are real, and they’re all from the same day! As a Destin newborn photographer, today I had the pleasure of photographing Baby E and his beautiful family, and we had an absolutely awesome session from start to finish.

Meet Baby E

Baby E was such a dream to photograph — perfectly snuggly and ready for his close-up. We worked through two looks: a sweet, dressed-up newborn portrait on my miniature pier with fishing gear at the gulf shoreline, and a cozy in-studio shot tucked into a wooden bowl wrapped in soft blue knit.

Why I Love Using Props (and Why I Only Shoot at Sunrise or Sunset)

I get so excited when I get to use a variety of props. My baby pier and fishing gear is my favorite to use — second only to my bowls. And for those who don’t already know, I only photograph at sunrise or sunset. There are a variety of benefits, but most importantly it’s because I get to capture all the colors as the sun rises or sets. Today’s session is another example of why I’m so meticulous about how I photograph: the skies were absolutely gorgeous and popped against the beautiful emerald-green waters of the gulf. These cotton candy clouds are my favorite to photograph, and these images are proof why.
