What a sunset! What a gift it was to be called to photograph this sweet local couple expecting their first child! As a Dune Allen Beach 30A maternity photographer, this kind of evening — soft sea oats, glowing sky, a glowing momma — is exactly why I love what I do. Nicole and Luis burst off the screen with love and excitement in their baby bliss, and y’all, this third-trimester momma was absolutely stunning.

An Early Fall Maternity Session on Dune Allen Beach

We met up on Dune Allen Beach off 30A on the most incredible early fall evening, with a sky full of oranges, yellows, and every fall pastel you could ever wish for. The Emerald Coast really showed up for Nicole and Luis — the dunes were full of golden sea oats, the surf was gentle, and the light was the kind every photographer dreams about. This stretch of 30A is quieter and more natural than some of the more developed beach communities, which makes it absolutely perfect for an intimate maternity session.

Outfit One: Mustard Yellow Two-Piece in the Dunes

We started with a stunning mustard yellow two-piece set that complemented the fall sunset light beautifully. Nicole posed among the tall sea grass and golden sea oats, cradling her growing baby bump as the warm glow caught every detail. The yellow against her bump and the dune grass made for the prettiest editorial maternity frames — soft, golden, and full of life.

Outfit Two: The Dreamy Blush Tulle Gown

Then Nicole changed into a dreamy blush, neutral-tone gown with a sweetheart neckline and layer upon layer of flowing tulle — and oh my goodness, this pregnant goddess GLOWED. The tulle cascaded across the sand as she walked the shoreline, and Luis joined her for some of the most romantic maternity frames I’ve ever captured. We caught sweet embraces, tender bump cradles, soft profile portraits at the water’s edge, and dramatic gown sweeps at sunset.

Grandparents-To-Be Joined In

Everything was so perfect that the expecting grandparents needed to join in the moment — and I am SO glad they did. Watching this baby boy’s whole family gather on the sand at sunset, ready to welcome him into the world, was such a tender and beautiful moment to photograph. These multi-generational frames are the ones Nicole and Luis will cherish forever.
